what is the kelley blue book value of 1986 mustang convertible V6 automatic engine with 70,000 origi

couldn't find one of the same exact year, was a '88 but was about 2 grand from a dealer. hope that gives u some idea. as for potential problems i wouldn't be too sure of cause i don't live in the states nor do we really get them here...best to have someone inspect it beforehand, save u alot of hassle and money..

I dont know the blue book value but I have been looking at Fox Body Mustangs on Ebay and the convertibles dont sell for more than 2000.

I would not go by the blue book. closIt's less than 2000.I went kelley blue book's web site. They don't even give a value after 20 years, so an 88 convertible in excellant condition 1500 good 900 and so on. It is only worth what someone is willing to pay. If you have taken good care of it and its in great shape you should be able to get more.

That's really good mileage. If the body is clean and the interior is straight you can probably fetch a couple thousand easy. Fox body Mustangs are popular for 5.0 swaps and race conversions. Not certain how common the V6's are, but four-eyed foxes are very hard to come by in good condition.

Kelly Blue Book is not nearly as accurate as they used to be, and they're WAY off on Mustangs. I had a 1987 convertible GT in pretty good condition that KBB valued at around $1,500 even though they were selling for $3-$5,000 everywhere. Nadaguides.com has always been right on every time I've checked them. A 1986 Ford Mustang LX convertible with V6 engine and no air conditioning values between $4,140-$7,695 on Nadaguides. That's pretty high compared to what they are actually selling for, but it's better than what KBB would tell you. This is NOT street value for used & abused cars. This is collector value since they are old enough to be considered collectors cars now. Usually cut collectors value about in half for regular street value and that should put you in the ballpark. Even at that, though, check the car out thouroughly. If it's in great condition and you plan to restore/drive it as is, then that's not a bad value range.
