Which headers???
I'm rebuilding my 1966 mustang fastback as a shelby clone. What would be the best headers to purchase? I know that the tri-y headers were original equipment and they can still be purchased, but I'd like to put something in that is a little more modern and that will fit in the existing space without any modification. Any help/recommendation is appreciated.

Shortys would be good, They would bolt right up to the stock exhaust system. They don't take up as much room as a set of long tubes. Try Dallas Mustang.
well it depends on what you want, if you're looking for actual horsepower gains that avoid shorty's like the plauge they do almost nothing over stock manifolds, you'll see maybe 4 horses and about 5 pounds of torque at the rear wheels... Full-length headers on the other hand will net you about 10-15 horses with close to that in torque on the rear wheels, best however comes in many differnt catagories...best looking, best performance, best price, best heat reduction, ect i personally feel that ceramic coated headers are the best bet in all catagories, except price of course, the good ones to look at are flowtech, hooker, and hedman, all of which will run you from about 250-800 bucks for a pair
look at a set of hookers and usually depending on your mods you will see more than 15 hp and tq from full length headers
really depends on what else is done, if you've got a good carb/intake set up so it can breate in well you'll get more from headers, if you also have a good street/strip cam you can see upwards of 30 horses from a set of competition hookers
If you are looking for the most horsepower with the least amount of money then get a set of Flowtech longtube headers they cost 100 dollars from autozone and you dont have to modify anything except for your exhaust system.
First make sure to get something that's coated silver. The cheap black stuff tends to rust. Longtube Hedman Hedders. And no I didnt spell hedders wrong. thats the company name.
