Cylinder 3 Misfire

Question type: Maintenance & Repair
I have a misfire in cylinder 3 which does not
allow me to reach over 50 with ease when I
press on the gas pedal. I have changed the
spark plugs and wires that connect to them
about a little over 3 months ago. What is my
next step in fixing my vehicle?

The coil may be bad. What engine?
Check the plug wires and maybe go ahead and replace them and the coil. http://performancedistributors.com/product/ford-mustang- v6-firepower-ignition-kit/

i have the same problem with my 99 replaced everything on that cylinder 3 and checked compression. does anyone now whats going on
small leak in head gasket fouling spark plug.
Please try dry and wet compression and observe the difference if wet compression is higher then it is piston ring and wet compression is same as dry then it is valve, lifter or cam shaft and last or least Head gasket or Intake manifold gasket
Im having the same issue but it's my cylinder 1 only. Have already put an MSD coil pack on fixed it for about a day or so.. Tried iridium plugs and it actually got worse so i went back to double platinum, replaced the wire for that cylinder(other 5 are fine.) Have ruled out head gasket leak,my scanner says the misfire monitor is ok which doesn't make sense to me. And the misfire only occurs during certain speeds regardless of my rpms. Mis is only noticeable from 25-30mph and it does it again between 40-50 but not all the time. After 50 she drives perfectly fine. When i pulled the plug it had soot on it and the threads had some type of moisture but it wasn't coolant oil or fuel its clear and odorless and it isn't oily. Only thing i haven't done is pull the injector or open the cylinder itself. Don't think its the injector though as all 6 are the original ones for the car. If it went bad due to old age i would assume that atleast one other would have gone bad too? Especially since I've had the misfire since February. Only other idea i have is the PCM, car was hit right by where it sits once before i bought the car and again 2 weeks after i bought it... I do have little odd electrical stuff that kind of ties into that as well such as my odometer turns on and off randomly and she does have some trouble starting and has recently gone into limp mode twice. Won't shift into 4th it'll hold steady at 50 mph only thing that changes are the rpms. Overdrive seems to shut off too when it does this, odd part is all i have to do is put her in neutral then back in gear and poof limp mode goes away.. I can tell the previous owner had a half ass mechanic work on this car,but i went to college for this crap and one of my best friends has worked on his dad's car lot literally his entire life. He's one of those guys that if he can't fix it then it's legit screwed, neither myself or him can figure this out at all. This car literally has a mind of it's own. It's hard to pinpoint one specific problem cuz sometimes things drive like new and other times she drives like complete crap. I have the option to get a 4.6L but i like my v6 with all ive put in her in the past year even with the misfire I've outran a GT lol. I feel like these 3.8s have more build potential than the 4.6. Plus why get a new motor tranny and everything when i can fix this damn misfire, get my 10psi of boost and push over 400hp
Cam shaft sensor if u replace plugs wire and coil try the sensor
I have a 2004 Ford mustang. The codes read a misfire on cylinders 2, 5, 6. So we replaced the coil pack, plugs, plug wires, and both O2 sensors. Catalytic converter still flows red after running for 15 minutes and no power. Im stumped, please help? Can it be fuel injectors? Oh and we replaced the manifold gasket also.
