The drain line may be to drain the area around the trunk opening where the gasket is. The drain line should go to a hole that allows the water to drain to the outside under the car. I suspect the hose got pulled out and it just needs to be put back in the proper place. Look for a hole the size of the hose in the bottom of the trunk somewhere below the hose.
