Ford Explorer 2005

Asked by Drw56371 Jul 26, 2017 at 12:44 PM about the 2005 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer V6 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2005 Ford Explorer. It was running fine and
I went out of town on vacation so it was sitting for a
week. The first time I drove it the charging system
light came on. I thought my battery may have died
while it was sitting but then the ABS light came on
as well as the 4x4 light. They now are coming on
and off almost constantly and the car still drives like
there is nothing wrong at all. I'm thinking it is a
loose wire but have no idea where to check? Any
help would be great. Thanks

The charging system light as well as the ABS light is controlled by the vehicle's computer system. Detecting a fault somewhere, the computer causes the light to illuminate. Best you have it checked out by a mechanic with live data equipment.
