What causes a 2005 ford explorer throttle body sensor to stop the engine
without turning over or starting?

smell the oil if it smells like gas That is why we call that yellow light on the dash the idiot light! my 1st bet is that you washed out the bottom end by ignoring the repairs needed and have seized the engine . i hope im wrong but thats why they have the nickname Ford Exploder
