Knocking/tapping when first started

So when I would get up or waited several hours to
go start my car it making a knocking/tapping
sound for 30 sec to 2 mins so yesterday I drained a
qt of oil out added a qt or trans fluid to the crank
case let the car run for 10 mins (car never reached
normal operating temp) then changed the oil
added a qt of Lucas then ran some marvel mystery
oil thru the intake vacuum lines let it ran for about
15 mins then when I got up this morning started it
noise is gone

So you took care of it. Probably dissolved some varnish build up in the lifters.
