2003 explorer door lock not working

Is it throwing the lock to the unlock position but remaining locked or is it just dead? If it is dead you will likely need find a bad electrical circuit or lock solenoid. If it appears to operate but doesn't, then the linkage between the solenoid and the lock mechanism has come loose and disconnected.
