Honda Accord 3.0 06 jerking at 3000 RPM

Asked by Izzyisfixing Feb 01, 2024 at 08:06 PM about the 2006 Honda Accord EX V6

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I cleaned the throttle body on my 2006 Honda accord v6 3.0. Once putting it
back together and testing driving. The car did not accelerate past 3000 rpm and
when it hits 3000 it starts jerking and sounds like the car is choking for air. The
gage goes just above and below the 3000 mark. But anything lower works
perfectly fine. What part is failing or needs to to be replaced?

Why did you clean the throttle body ? What problem where you having ? Some throttle plates are coated with a special material the cleaner can remove . MAF sensors are also sensitive to cleaners if any of it got on that sensor

Are you driving the car or revving the engine in neutral? Rev limiter kicks in if the car is in neutral.
