Small amount of steam from tailpipe

I just got my car back last week after a timing belt
replacement as well as valves. I lost the belt on the freeway
and it did a number on my car. So $2500 later I am driving
the car in Arizona and it is 101 degrees. No AC. So I took to
the AC repair guy to do a leak check. I noticed when he
started the car there was a few puffs of steam from the
tailpipe. The car has not had any temperature change and
seems to be driving pretty good. I did also notice that there
is some black around where the tailpipe comes out. Is the
steam indicative of a problem.

no I don't smell antifreeze or any sweet smell. It was literally just a few little puffs when he started the car.

Go back to the shop that did the timing belt replacement and have them check it out.
