Why is my steering wheel hard to turn? 2004 Chevy tahoe

I changed the power steering pump and it
was working for a little bit then the steering
wheel got really hard again .. I've checked
the steering fluid and the hoses but I just
can't figure out what's wrong

try checking tie rod ends and ball joints one might be froze up too.
