Engine Control Module (ECM)

Asked by Dee2004Tahoe Aug 29, 2019 at 08:25 PM about the 2004 Chevrolet Tahoe LT 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 04 Tahoe started missing while driving & when stopped it would idle
really rough & die. Code reader indicated Engine Control Module. We
ordered new ECM specific to my VIN a week ago. Just received it and
installed the new one & now it won't start. Even the security light doesn't
work with the new one. We can put the old ECM back in and it will start and
run some and security light works.  We tried the sequence with the ignition in
run for 10 minutes each interval for a total of 30 minutes, but it still will not
start my vehicle.  Any ideas?
