Does the gear shifter feel normal (can you feel it clicking through the gear notches). If so, next check the transmission fluid. Should be full on the dipstick and be red in color. If it is dark or smells burnt, you likely have an internal problem with the transmission. If the fluid is full and the gear shifter seems normal, probably the transmission.
