I have an 01 Tahoe with 5.3. It would crank for just a moment before dying and you could NOT hear fuel pump come on with key in ON position. Turned out to be the battery. It has enough power to turn truck over but not enough to sustain ECM functions. New battery in her and she started right up. Before diagnosing as battery, I tested fuel pump, relay "ECM B" fuse and reset computer multiple times without any luck. Hope this helps and you don't waste time and money like I did
