oil pressure drops at high speed

i have a tahoe its a 2001 5.3l   i can drive it around town all day no issues...
now when i get on the highway going 70 or even like a state route going 55  it
takes it a little bit like 25 to 30 mins of driving at that speed  oil pressure drops
down to 20 i hear ticking like a lifter i pull over shut the car off then wait 2 to 3
mins ticking gone oil pressure is back up and 25 mins later it does it again  i
replaced the oil sending unit and it still does it  im stumped on this

Did you replace the screen below the sending unit? Oil is getting much hotter at those speeds but still should not drop pressure. Check screen.

on the 2001 there is no screen below the sending unit that was verified by chevy dealership they did not start putting screens in until 2007
