Evaporative emissions leak, get the code read its probably for an emissions leak. Find the leak and repair it.

I would check to see if fuel pump is leaking on top of gas tank. My 07 Tahoe was leaking on top of the gas tank, there is a low spot in the tank where fuel pump mounts. the gas stays in that low spot so you won't see a leak. The line coming out of the fuel pump was rusted and leaking some gas into the low spot on tank.

Tank has a axes port used to replace pump sounds like someone didn’t get port cover properly sealed when replacing fuel pump . Need to get it corrected soon gas leak dangerous, and costly.

yes, have a gas leak test done and have fix before inspection. Auto zone can also tell you the code and then have it done.
