Run my Tahoe out of gas today, due in part
to gauge quit working. Added fuel still
wouldn't start. Pulled it home to look over
it better. All fuses are good, fuel pump is
coming on. I got it to start but won't stay
going keeps dieing on me. Idk what else
could be wrong.. help!!
Sometimes when you run it out of gas it burns up the fuel pump. The fuel going though it cools the pump. Most people don't run out of fuel and accept fate and look for gas, they try starting it multiple times before establishing they are going to have to get gas. All that burns up the pump, it doesn't take much and every time the key is turned the pump runs. It's also a good idea to change the fuel filter if this is your issue.

Changed fuel pump on 2004 Chevy Tahoe and it works but, it won't stay start for over ten minutes? Its giving me code p0650. Do I need to change the ecm or can I reset it?
