06 Chevy Trail Blazer

Question type: Maintenance & Repair
I have had a problem with my Trailblazer
shutting off on me going down the road. My
engine malfunction light comes on and my
skid control light comes on every time. I have
to turn the key of for at least 30 seconds to a
min. before it will crank back up. I have listed
this problem on here before. My question
today is could the cam shaft position sensor
and the crank shaft position sensor be
causing this problem?

Do you have a OBDii code scanner? Since the lights are lit up on the dash, you can pull the trouble codes to help you determine if the Cam or crank sensors are the problem. I would hate for you to replace parts just guessing.

I have several codes that showed up on the scan from auto zone. I fixed a few of them already but I need a more precise scanner. I will list some of the codes individually. Maybe they will make sense to some of you.

Okay the codes are CO244, PO449, PO463, PO526, PO601, and PO621 thank you for your time and help.

I just found some information about a guy with the same exact problem. He had the code PO601 he had to replace his PCM. He said after this it was fixed! The problem is, this sounds very expensive. What are your thoughts on this?
Yes it sounds expensive, but without a guaranteed working PCM, you'll be chasing your tail. You're on the right track, P0601 would be the first one I'd attack. http://www.pcmofnc.com/product/chevy-trailblazer-4-2l-i6-mail-order-tune-3/ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yg1zcIfkUJY

I actually found a PCM online at Flagship One Inc. it’s used but they program it to your vin number and send it to you. They guarantee it to work and offer a lifetime guarantee. Since they specialize in this area I went ahead and purchased it. I only paid $142 and all I have to do is plug it in when I get it. I hope this fixes the problem. I found a few others with the same exact problem and code po601. the PCM was the problem. I have my fingers crossed lol. Thanks for all the help guys!
