Check gages light

I have a 2003 chevy trailblazer, was driving this
morning and a few dash lights flashed on, also i
have 1/4 tank of gas but when the lights came on
the fuel needle went down to empty! The lights that
came on were check gages, battery symbol,
service engine soon and than the gas light, does
ANYONE know why? I just bought this truck

It is possible that there was a problem with the truck before you bought it. If the check engine light is still on, have the codes read. There may be a problem with the electrical circuit.

Aadams, usually when guages go whacko like that, look to your ignition switch to be the culprit on our platform.

Its the same problem im having so if u find an answer please let me know. Mine comes on only when i turn the headlights on. All my guages drop and all my dummy lights come on.
