Will broken AC Compressor damage my transmission or engine in anyway?

AC unit broke was running it had a weird squeal
then a smell  AC light then was flashing I haven’t
used it in long time didn’t have the money to
replace.   Will this issue damage my transmission in
anyways?  Heard it could. Thank you

If the serpentine belt cannot turn properly then you can ruin your engine by overheating it.
