WHY IS THERE WATER ON PASSENGER FLOOR FROON AND REAR

If it's a soft top the roof may be leaking or the door sealing rubbers may have came off have a hole in or just slipped

your front class may have a leak on the bottom gasket, may need to replace the rubber gasket around the window, run water on the car and look under the passenger dash, if you see it wet dry it up till you find where it is coming from, onetime my antenna was loose and water was entering from there and if it is wet all the time then its your heater core.

its the fresh ait intake to cowling gasket. You need to remove wipers and the cover for the fresh air intake on the pass. side below the windshield. Clean any debris that may be clogging the drain gutter, and of the intaje screen, This might solve problem, but check the foam seal underneath the plastic cowl where it seals to the body on top of the vent, this is how water gets in from rain and washing car, it runs inside passenger side on floor, and can make its way to rear area also. If seal is bad, replace with new part, or make your own seal with foam seal tape and or silicone.

Could it be the heater core went out?

I had a cougar and passenger side floorboard was wet. It was the heater core. I had a friend bypass it cause it would have cost 2200

Meant to say 1200.00

This has been an issue with these cars. If your heater core is not leaking and your ac drain is not plugged.........as limo expert said, it is your gasket on the air intake for the hvac system. I have a 2001 town car that had the very same issue. After inspecting the heater core and ac drain I took the cover off the air intake area and saw Ford's better idea. A very poor quality gasket. I took a 1/2 inch of solid round silicone gasket material flattened on one side and used silicone to create a bond and seal and put 2 heavy bricks overnight then put it all back together. Hasn't leaked one time since.

Above answers are correct. Smell test the fluid, determine if it's antifreeze or just water. If it's antifreeze ull have to drop the dash to replace the heater core, or if you don't need the heat just disconnect the heater core hoses, and buy a coupler (home Depot) to bypass the heater core for now. If it's a bad cowl gasket (which it prob is) remove the pass side cowl piece (cowl is in 2 pieces) . U will see a foam (thanks Ford) gasket. These ALWAYS LEAK. Scrape it off, apply gasket maker from your auto store where the old gasket was , and also around the screws for added security, and put everything back together. Let it dry (check specs on PKG) and then test with a hose to see if it's fixed. I currently own a 98 and 06 town car, and have also owned a 99 corwn Vic and 03 CVPI, all had this issue.
