makes grinding noise when clutch is disengaged

Thank you . It drives just fine clutch works great as well as braked would that be consistent with a bad throwout bearing?

Yes. Just minimize depressed-clutch use until you wear out either the pressure plate springs or driven disc, and then replace all parts in clutch "pack". TOBs don't do much, but you don't want it to break and jam up the system, so shift into neutral at long lights, etc.
