life expectancy 2008 buick enclave

It should last well into 2017.
I think 2008 was the first year of the Enclave and they all probably had the 3.6 overhead cam V6 engine. I have heard the early 3.6 engines had wear problems with the cam drive chain system. One source said if the oil was not changed per the manual the cam chain drive had problems around 100K miles. the same source said just the parts from GM cost around $900. I suspect IF the above is true, the aftermarket has jumped on the problem and the replacemant parts are now maybe half the GM charge again IF the car actually has that problem.
There was a recall for programming for the timing chain. If it wasn't done in a timely manner the timing chain would wear early and need replacement by 40k miles or less. If you got the update, you should be good however your gas mileage will have dropped to 13 city and 17 highway. Much lower than the factory says.
Jade.....when was the recall.......the 3.6 became available in GM products around 2005, I had a 2005 Rendezvous with that engine, then I had an 08 Enclave, now a 17 Enclave and I do not recall a recall. I put 92K on the Rendezvous, 75K on the o8 Enclave without any problems.
I have a 2008 Buick Enclave and it has lasted 11 years and 110,000 miles. I am now looking to replace it due to increase in repairs needed over the last few months. It has been a great car and having trouble deciding what to replace it with. If it wasnt for mechanics having trouble pin pointing the exact issue, I would keep it longer.
We have a 2008 and my wife has put 271k on this vehical with only one issue and it is the hood and back door lifts not working even after the recall was done. I called GM and they said that they would only do 1 recall fix. 3 month after they put new ones in, they failed. Other than that it has been a great car and we are still driving it about 50 miles a day
