traction light and power loss

Asked by Amy Jul 28, 2017 at 03:07 PM about the 2003 Lincoln LS V8 Premium Sport

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

while driving my car out of the parking lot, my traction light came on, a loud
noise was heard, i lost my power steering and brake peddle went to the floor.
i understand this is normal when your are in slippery icy or wet conditions
where traction might be lost. however this has occurred 4 times. once while
driving about 5mph over railroad tracks, three times from a stop sign turning
right. i have taken it to three mechanics and no on can find anything wrong.i
am nervous to drive the vehicle, it has been placed on the machine that
checks for codes and nothing. please advise

DO NOT DRIVE THIS CAR. Have this car TOWED to a mechanic before using it again. Your master cylinder may be defective and/or you may have a serious leak in the brake fluid system....either way, please don't endanger others by testing my theory or anyone elses by continuing to drive this vehicle. Please tow to a qualified mechanic for a proper diagnostic...
