Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Is it better to jump straight to the battery? Or the
terminal under the hood?
If under the hood, here in the world do I hook the

Thanks, I do not have the manual, or ever looked under the hood of a bmw. I can't even figure how to check the oil on this damn thing. The car just kinda fell in my lap and I'm deciding if I want to keep it or not.
