I have a 2006 G35 Sedan and the same thing happened to me. I called Infinity and they said it sounds like the Idol Control Speed something. I was looking for an answer for the same problem... The service soon engine light stays on but the slip and vdc lights only come on after the car shuts its self off.

Hey, Hopefully this can help you out. Before you go dumping a lot of money into the car, take the hose off from your air filter to your throttle body, look at the throttle body and see if it is clean. If it is not take the throttle body off and get some brake cleaner or something along those lines and clean it up. Also, along with that, i would change your fuel filter as well to make sure your fuel lines are clogged. In all this should cost less than $40, or less depending on what a new fuel filter cost. Some times serious problems can be fixed pretty cheap and easy.
My car is having the same issues, did you find a solution to the problem?
I am experiencing the same issue and its because of a Cam position sensor, I changed bank 2 and its doing the same thing, i will change bank 1 as well to see if this finally resolves this issue.
When you put gas in these cars you can't leave the car running or top off the tank. They will cut off and the check engine will come on. Take the negative cable off to reset it. That's what happen to me. Hope this helps
I turned the car off and then got gas. When I got back and tried to crank it, it would not start. HELP
Hey guys....i have a G35 2003 sedan AT...I experienced the same problem with my g.....driving on the freeway engine will shut off and turn back on instantly with the check engine light on and the slip light and vdc as well...slow moving with 10 m/h and while i was trying to park ,my engine stopped working and i had to wait a few minutes to start back up....i found a video on youtube that shows us how to reset ECU and with that you also delete errors lights from the dash...here is a link.... https://youtu.be/95WszTnphPI ... that guy has a g37 but if you do it at the same time with him...it will work... Try this to reset ecu first...if you guys have the same problem again try to find out the codes for the errors...there is a bank 1 camshaft and a bank2 camshaft errors...buy the sensors only from OEM brand new!!!! All this should solve this problem!!! Good luck !!!
hey guys, i jut got a 2008 g35awd. while i was driving on a highway at 30 miles, engine went dead, all lights were on,,, i managed to parked on the side and was able to turn it on again, ,,, infiniti dealer said that it can be the gas pump or cramshaft and maybe there's not ground somewhere. I took it back to the dealer and it's not happening again. I hate it because i don't want to crash when am driving 80 mph. Let me know if you find what is causing this please.. ari1969md@yahoo.com
I had the same issue. The fix is to replace the camshaft position sensor. Easy fix you tube it. Part costs $100.
This might correct your issue. https://www.youtube.com/watch? v=8zhjti0MJAM
I've been dealing with this for several months. I have replace ALL sensors and the throttle body assembly and still having a loss of power. Seems to do fine, then when my RPMs lower at a stop light it dies. Turns over. Dies. Same lights coming up on the dash.

Hey guys i have a 06 G35 coupe, mine has been dieing after i let it warm up a few mins then i can start it up then go down the road a few miles then itll die out again ill let it park for a few mins then itll be able to start up again im so stuck on this everybody, if yall have the magic answer lmk, and even right now it wont start up. My cell # is 540-493- 5733 text me what you think it is
My g35 was slow to start (a little longer than usual) and the vdc, slip, and check engine lights would all turn on. It would lose all power while driving sometimes and we would have to wait to get it started again. I got autozone to run the codes for the check engine light and it was the camshaft position sensor bank 2.

I am experiencing the same problems in my FX35 2005. I'll be driving and the tach flies up and down, engine shuts off and then back on. This happens while moving at top speeds. I've had my engine shut down while moving slow in traffic and at stop lights. The VDC and SLIP lights turn on. Sometimes it lags when trying to start up again. I'll be driving and boom, engines shuts off, while moving. I pop it into N and turn the key to get engine running again. I've had many parts replaced, $3000 into it and still have same problems. Can't get rid of the car cuz I still owe on it. Any solutions out there? Dealers say they are getting NO codes that anything is wrong with it.
I had issues with my 2004 g35. About 120k miles on it. Car would have trouble starting, only way to start it was to give it some gas. After about a few months car would stop accelerating while driving...but would pull over shut off and start up again and good to go. The solution was the replacing the cam shaft sensor. Which worked for a few months than same issues arose. I changed out the throttle body, and noticed a crack in the curved air intake hose/boot. So replaced the air mass meter boot. Could've probably duct taped the crack for a short term fix. But got the air mass meter boot at the dealership. Car has been good ever since, re- programing the computer was too difficult for me..but light went off after a few weeks of driving so maybe the computer learned on its own. Hope my experience helps.

I am having the same problem with my 2009 EX35. The engine shuts off while coming to slow speed and when cornering. I have to put the gear in N position so I can restart the engine again. Any definitive solution?

I got a g35x 2005 it does the same thing with the vdc and slip lights turn on and it shuts down while driving what can the problem be?
Same issue with my 07 G3gx.. engine dies in slow speed and when cornering.. any help?
Mine did this to me I was low on oil these engines consume oil even the manual tells you this I was 3 quarts low it's a safety feature if oils to low it won't let you burn it up goes in safe mode filled it up started right up no more problem

There was a general recall on the accelerator pedal position sensor for the M35's. [Don't understand why it doesn't apply to the G series as its the same engine]. The dealer diagnostics will show the cam sensors needing replacement, but if the problem persists, than eventually you will find that this is the culprit.

My 2003 G35 shut off suddenly one afternoon after a hard acceleration and all the lights on my dash went on. I replaced a coil pack and a spark plug. Everything is 100%.
Wow I'm in Los Angeles my car was trying to shut off about 70 mph I stepped on the throttle it accelerated to 65 back and forth until the slip trans light came on then ran normal until I shut the engine off. I could've driven for hours like that and did once just don't shut it off. I forgot once made it slip again when I get some time I'll check things said here. Trans has no side affects, 160,000 miles no problem until two weeks after the smog emissions test. 323-239-6100 If anything new found thank you!
Thank you @G35M35owner... My 2016 M35 has been experiencing the same issues. My engine will stall at occasionally while in a stopped position. Similar to everyone else, the engine lights then come on. After I put engine in park I can turn car back on but obviously the occurrence of the issue has been concerning. I will call infiniti to inquire about this recall. Thanks!
You only have a bad Alternator. The alternator is not charging your battery enough to keep the engine running.

My car was shutting off while i was moving. I took it in and they replaced some sensors. Forgot what the name of it was but it resolved the problem, for a while. Happened again and they replaced more sensors and it seemed to fix it. It was not a BAD ALTERNATOR that has nothing to do with a engine that is firing.
Ladies and Gentlemen the problem is an electrical problem. there is the relay fuse at the back of your G35 battery. just pull them out and clean the contacts. They are being affected by water.
Let me know if this helped you
Hi traffic, which relay, I took the all out and cleaned them and there was one had oily contacts .
My problem shows up when running at 60 mph and suddenly the seem the engine gets cut off and all lights show up or couple of the dashboard light show up and if I accelerated at that moment everything back to good . Any suggestion would be appreciated.

Coil Packs/Spark Plugs - Check them all. Don't worry you will still be able to slam on the accelerator and drive like a teenager.
I KNOW THE ANSWER!!! so before you replace the 2 camshaft sensors around $80 each, try replacing the crankshaft sensor at the bottom of the engine. the part is just 45 bucks and you can do it in 2 minutes. since the VQ engines we have on the g35 burn oil, i have a slight leak that went down the engine onto the sensor and turned off while at a red light AND while driving even though i replaced the 2 camshaft sensors. PS. get your throttle body serviced (cleaned) night and day difference in idling and shifts (i have 2004 g35 coupe sadly automatic)
I have 2011 FX35 with same problem I guess. The car stalled at parking lot speed or at stop signs. I noticed so far it only happens within the first 50 miles after I fully filled up the gas tank. Just own it couple weeks, so still don’t know the exact issue to fix yet. (Throttle bodies already cleaned out)
Any one figure this out ?
I have a 2006 fx35 and mines is doing the same thing when i am on the line before Empty but when my tank is half or full never have that problem please help
I have a 2004 g35 6mt. Driving it down the road and it sputtered 3 times and then died. Won’t start back. Anybody have any suggestions?
I've had the intermittent slow speed stalling for years on a 08 G35 Sedan and it is finally fixed. Things we just did: replaced spark plugs (had 112k miles), removed and thoroughly cleaned the throttle bodies, cleaned MAF sensors (previous cleaning of these alone did not do anything for me), and put a bottle of STP complete fuel injector cleaner in the tank. It's running like a charm now. I really think it was the throttle body cleaning and butterfly valves because they looked a little bit gunked up and these cars are so precisely tuned, it may have been enough to stall me at idle. I hope this helps.
Don't waste your time, Infiniti laughed at me for the same things / It only start with one sensor disconnected (limp mode) The problem is "sludge" and they know about it !!! They just don't care.. I spent 1000.00 trying to repair it and finally had to replace the motor with a newer one with 40k miles They are aware and just don't care Don't buy one Lets talk Class Action Lawsuit. Jerry in Miami 45 years Master tech /Teacher/mechanical insurenxe advisor
@GuruCTB42 if it is sludge, should we be using full synthetic? Anyone using full synthetic and still having these slow speed stall issues?
Absolutely use full synthetic, My car would not start with the sensors all hooked up even after I replaced them all. Its the VVt cams being out of position. Infiniti is aware,. Ask them if they can guaranty the repair and watch them run for the doors. it takes 24 hrs to pull the crank pulley and replace the chain and then Maybe. The water rpump on a Nissan is 2700.00$ to replace Hmmmm Bad design not meant to be repaired. sold the car to get my money back
My 2003 infiniti g35 is dumping to much fuel into my intake
My g35 has been turning off on stop lights or just out of nowhere.. I read the code and it says I needed to change my bank 2 sensors and I did but the problem still keeps occurring... I have my vdc light on,slip light on, & check service soon light on can anyone text me and help me out please ? You can contact me at 707-484-2921

My 2008 g35 stopped working out of nowhere. It’s not da battery, I put my key fob inside the key fob holder and it tells me to press the brake and push button to start car as if it is ready to crank , but does nothing when I do press it. It won’t even jus turn the radio on. I sent it to Infiniti and they said that water damage ruined my fuses and it’s a 3000 dollar job. Anyone know what I can do to fix it myself?
I kniw what it is it happen to me it was my camshaft position sensor bank 1, 2 their r three of them I changed all three now it runs like a champ
they had a recall in 2011 about electrical problems on m35 and 45 from 2006 to 2011 mine is doing it now
I have a 2008 G35 it stops whenever the car slows down at a stop light or stop sign. Took it to Infiniti they told me it’s the belt , AC compressor, spark plugs. I changed that and clean the throttle body took off the converter and the problem still remains. PLEASE HELP
Mine did this. First i replaced my cam sensor. Problem stipped for a few weeks cam back had to replace my crank sensor. After that she starts fine and runs perfectly

The fuse box by the battery. The big one. Get it out of it's box and the connector at the bottom right. TAKE A PICTURE OF THE WIRE ORDER. Then Pull it, it's a pain to get out and the plug comes into two parts so the picture may come in handy. This harness connects almost every power connection monitored by the ECU. Including your throttle body and power for O2 and various other sensors. Now, inside the socket where the plug was plugged into the power distribution box you will see two rows of flat prongs. Get a pair of needle nose and carefully twist each flat prong ever so slightly to the right or left. Get them all even, Now plug the plug back in, it will not go in easily, you may have to work it around to get all those pins to engage, but once you get it, enjoy your loss of electrical gremlins.
