could be the wrong thermostat, maybe your fans don't turn on when they are suppose to. wrong coolant maybe? radiator cap not working right. not enough coolant in the radiator or in the coolant overfill container.

I took it the shop with a good reputation called Gateway they changed radiator cap twice changed thermostat twice even put a new bleeder valve on and it ran hot in them just sitting still after 5 minutes i told them check headers but they insisted that since water not mixing it couldn't be headers so now its in shop getting checked for cracked headers or warped heads they also said they would be able tell if block had a cracked bc car is not smoking after 3237 dollars they haven't came to a conclusion of what it is so hopefully checking headers will be the issue and they fix for free.
