2005 BMW X3 3.0i 4-Door SUV: What are the most common problems, and when are they most likely to occur?

I want to buy my first BMW.... I'm looking at a beautiful 2005 BMW X3 3.0i 4-Door SUV

The car has had only one owner and has a clean title, but has 175K for mileage.

I would like to mention I'm buying from a shop, not a personal seller. They say the car
is clean, fully inspected and good to go, but I know repairs are expensive.

I want to know what are the most common problems, and when are they likely to
occur? Also, in your personal experiences, should I get an additional warranty from the
shop?

don't buy extended warranties- they are a rip off- my advice, pass on the BMW with 175K- man, they are expensive to repair-
