PLEASE HELP!!! Problems for 3 weeks banging my head against the wall here. Just replaced the electrical end of the ignition switch on my 04 Acura tl and now it will crank but not start and fuel pump will not engage

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

For about a month every time I turned the key on my 2004 Acura TL it would not crank. I
turned the key and everything came on and I would have to turn the key like 10 times to
get it to crank once or twice finally start. Over the course of a month it just got worse and
worse having to turn the key up to 100 times plus...literally. Battery is new and had the
starter checked and it was fine, so after some research I decided to take out the electrical
part of the ignition switch and saw that I had worn down the contacts from turning the key
so many times in a month. I installed it and BAM! the engine was cranking now, but still
no start, then I noticed that the fuel pump was not engaging anymore. Took out the pump
and dry tested and it worked just fine but once I put it back in it still wouldn't engage while
in the tank. So I replaced the fuel pump relay and even a new pump just in case, even
though I know Honda fuel pumps hardly ever go out. Can't hear the new pump engage
either. Someone Please help!! Was it because I only changed the electrical part of the
Ignition switch? Do I need to replace the entire "steering lock" as acura calls it? I just
cannot figure this out and it's driving me bananas!

If the fuel pump is not engaging it could be the Fuel Module Relay. In my CL, every time the temperature would get above 90, the engine would just turn over and over. Got a new relay and have not had the problem since (over 5 years). Something about the soldering shrinks and doesn't make good contact any longer. The module is located under the dash near where your left knee would be when sitting in the driver's seat. Hope this helps.
