The door panel will need to be removed to inspect the linkages. One probably popped off.
odds are the linkinge on the inner handle has either popped off or the plastic has fractured which the linkage sits in this is quite common on old fords and rovers

One other thing,....If the outside handle dose not return to it's rest position after opening the door, the inside handle won't work.

Hi WesleyT, Sorry to hear you're having this issue with your vehicle. Because I'm not a Certified Technician, I am unable to diagnose what's going on with your door handle. I would recommend stopping into your Chevy dealership and have them repair. Good luck! Vanessa GM Customer Service
More than likely, either your interior door latch cable has snapped, or the interior door handle has broken where the cable attaches. It's a terrible design flaw on LS and LT models...I replaced the part(s) 3 times on my 2011 LT. The door latch is +/- $80.00, and the cable about $20.00 if you do the work, the dealer charged me $300.00 the first time it happened.
If your window is rolled down, roll it up. Just had this problem.
