ran out of gas i think added gas but truck will not start and no pressure in rail what can it be?

ran out of gas. after adding gas I can't get the truck to start. gas is in rail but no pressure. What can it be

Sometimes running out of gas can cause the fuel pump to go bad, since gas is used to lubricate it and keep it running cool. All you can do is troubleshoot the fuel pump and see why you're not getting any fuel pressure.
