4×4 will not lock in does anybody have an answer

Replaced and installed new CV axle, first axle failed shifting from 2WD to 4WD HI. New axle passed road test with flying colors, wanted to try out the 4WD, shifted from 2WD to 4WD, the new one failed 1 Answer
I'm at loss to the cause of the CV axle failures, any help would be appreciated. The new install went well, followed all torque spes, the road test went without a hitch.

What is the little box that the cv axle connects to on my 2006 dodge ram1500 4x4 2 Answers
They are both leaking and looks like the bearings are a little rusty in them and there play in the axle and clunking when i drive.
