Had this happen on my 02. Kept popping a fuse. That fuse controlled my fuel pedal and my gauges. Replace the fuse, often in the middle of an intersection!, and go on my merry way. It turned out to be a chafed wire in the steering column on the shifter that controls the OD button. I replaced the shifter for $55 and added extra electrical tape on the wire and been fine ever since.
