I have a 2011 ford f-250 diesel 4x4. When I shift into 4w drive and attempt to turn it feels like the truck is trying to jump sideways. It bucks like a bronco... Any help is appreciated

When the truck is in 4wd and I attempt to turn the truck bucks and shakes,
any ideas?

Sharp turns on dry pavement cause the drive train to bind up as the front and back wheels are turning at different rates. Never run your truck in 4 WD on dry pavement as you may damage the transfer case. Snow is OK or if there is a lot of water on the road during heavy rain.
Not sure how long you have had this truck, but make sure that the tires are all the same size and have approximately the same tread depth and are inflated to the same pressure. If the tires check out then as "Full of Regrets" posted it may be a normal condition on dry pavement.
My 4x4 will buck like that on hard packed dirt with really grippy tires. On pavement you can't turn sharp at all and if you forced it I could see breaking gears or even cracking the transfer case.
Mine jerks around some when I turn and have left the 4wd on with dry pavement, but under-inflated or miss-matched tires will make it worse. Even having the same sized tires and different brands can affect it.
That is true Bob but my tires always match and I rotate them every 6,000 miles. Some tires are not so bad but really grippy tires can be a pain when you are turning sharp off road.

Thank you all... I have new tires >5,000 miles and I've checked the pressure it's the same on all tires. When I have had this experience I was on mostly dry pavement a small amount of snow and I was attempting a tight turn. I'll rest easier now that I know the limitations for turning with 4wd.
Sometimes you just have to take it out of 4WD for turns. I do.
