Changed sensor didn't help. I don't understand how it could be the thermostat when the engine is cold. If I set my heater to high and heater fan to high and keep driving code disappears. 2007 GMC Sierra.

Disconnect the battery for 3 minutes. Re-connect. Everything will be be fine, until it happens again. I may happen again in a few weeks, or not at all. You'd think there would be some kind of permanent fix, but I have not heard of anything. It's a glitch in the ecm that cause it.

I noticed that my instrument lights go out often when one of these other warnings pop up. I'm curious to whether it may actually be caused by a power supply issue or something in the wiring harness or the vehicles computer itself. I even have a service airbag light that will come on for a month then go back off plus my traction control system will indicate service needed but then go back off and not come back on for weeks. Now the 2 newest things to go wonky are my low oil pressure warning came on twice, 3weeks apart.. my oil was fine. Not any ping ,knock, leaks etc. Then a few days ago my engine hot turn a/c off displayed and my temp gauge is staying on C.. the car wasn't hot, antifreeze is good at at correct level. The a/c wasn't on in the first place because it was 25 degrees out. Then my amber engine light pops on. I'm about to go disconnect the battery. My engine is solid.. it's gotta be something in the computer relays or something with the power supply. I know when a alternator goes.. everything will throw codes soooo that's why I was thinking power supply issue.

Unhook the battery for about 5 minutes, then connect it back up. Computer will reset, and all will be fine -- until next time, which could be months, or years.
