Traction control light and abs warning on again

Asked by Guru8BNL May 02, 2017 at 01:48 PM about the 2008 Chevrolet Impala SS FWD

Question type: General

I took it to dealership to do diagnostic the
moment the warnings came on. They told
me it was due to a spark plug( misfire)
charged me $17.00 for it as well ad $28.00
for shop supplies. ( not sure what that
was? Paper towel) . Then they said to
correct problem it needed a $219.00 fuel
injectors flush. I asked why and what
reason does t/c light and service blinking
and dinging and abs have to do with the a
misfire?  I was assured this would fix it and
trusted them. I also asked them to
guarantee it would fix it. Told oh yes no
problem. Asked after research if they are
sure it is not wheel bearing and if so as it's
seems to be the common problem. It's
doing it again less than 30 days and hardly
drove. Taking it back to dealership
tomorrow. Am I a fool?

The dealer is ripping you off. There is ZERO connection between the fuel injectors and the ABS warning light. You probably have a bad wheel speed sensor but have the ABS codes read.

A spark plug would be around $10 even at dealer prices. There are no "shop supplies" needed to replace a plug.

Thank you! I've been bewildered since. I did have the $150 diagnostic and the code supposedly read misfire. In 3 Rd cylinder. I was told that the service and and t/c lights go off ... but it doesn't mean that's where the problem is??
