how to change the transmission fluid on a 2008 Saturn Vue XE 6 speed 3.5

If this is an automatic, you drop the transmission pan and it will make a mess if you haven't done it before. Also change the transmission filter since the pan is off.
this does not have a pan, just want the location of the drain plug
Well then it is a standard transmission. The drain plug would have to be on the bottom if it has one.

The dealer pointed out the plug location to me. It is about 4" from the front of the transmission and about 1" from the outer (driver's side) edge. Easily accessible without jacking the car up. It takes an 11mm socket. It came off easily, not much torque required. A little over 5 quarts of fluid drained out so I would suggest having 6 quarts on hand before starting the procedure. Taken from another website
Thanks for looking that up Kartboarder.

Yea, this was from the XR which is the 3.6 liter motor, but both the 3.5 liter and the 3.6 liter use the same 6T70 tranny. Best of luck to you, doing it yourself, I know if you bring it in they pump it in and out evacuating the fluid stuck in the torque converter, but yea this is pretty easy do it yourself method and a heck of a lot cheaper. Have you had yours rebuilt yet?
Thanks so much. Saved us a lot of time and money. Very helpful and Thanks again!

There is no pan. It's a bolt with a black plastic cap. Its located behind the driver front wheel.
