just replaced battery and I need to know how many miles it takes to reset computer..it needs to pass inspection and it won;t till computer resets

there shouldn't be anything that needs to be reset. is there a light on?? if so might have to get dealer to reset either the steering angle sensor or could be other problems.

I changed the battery under the hood and I failed inspection how long it takes for the computer to recognize it how many miles are supposed to drive
