My LaCrosse did this in December of 2018. I drove it to my job (less than a 30 minute drive) and on the way there, it acted like it didn't want to pick up speed. I got to work, texted my husband that something was wrong with my car (AGAIN ). We had a funeral that day so I left work at 11am, got in my car and let it warm up for a minute before I went to leave.Go to put it in reverse, it goes, then when I put it in Drive, nothing happened. It ended up being the transmission. My car had 112k miles on it and had never been driven hard or slam-shifted. $1499 for a remanufactured transmission and $500 in labor, car is back on the road. Now, something keeps draining my battery if the car sits for a few days. I'm so pissed at myself for buying a GM product and I still owe $8000 on it.
