Brakes go to the floor!!!

Asked by Ian Nov 25, 2018 at 02:31 AM about the 2008 Pontiac Grand Prix Base

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

08' Grand Prix 6 cyl. Brakes go straight to the floor whether
vehicle is on or off. ABS and TRAC lights are on. No visible
fluid leak. Master Cylinder replaced 2 years ago, calipers
last year, rotors and pads and flex line 6 months ago.
Brakes have been bled and rechecked. No air. Master
Cylinder was bled when installed. What's the issue???

The master cylinder is almost always the culprit, replace it carefully so as not to get air in the abs control. I hope this helps

What Mike said. And always buy a NEW master cylinder. Never buy rebuilt master cylinders or A/C compressors. They never last or work correctly out of box. Safety with brake parts.

You might need a bidirectional scanner to activate the ABS pump to get air moving down and out.

Check for loose hub / wheel bearings if one or both are loose will cause brake pedal to go to floor.
