i have a 2008 buick lucrene and i need to replace my fuel pump. its a single
hose and im wondering does the black top or white top matters cuz i was told
the white top i have now may be the wrong one

Who told you that ? I would think the parts store would sell you the right part . Replacement parts may not always be identical .
