2008 Buick Lucerne water in trunk

Asked by Quercus4321 Jun 05, 2018 at 04:41 PM about the 2008 Buick Lucerne CXL FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Help! I just bought a 2008 Lucerne and the spare tire area has water in it. I
found several posts and comments about this problem but am having a hard
time finding where these patches that need taped are. The inside of my trunk
doesn't look the pictures. I need a you tube video or step by step instruction.

Sorry but your answers were too vague, A friend of mine climbed into my trunk with a flashlight, I shut the lid and ran water onto the trunk lid. When he knocked I let him out. He showed me on both sides where the water was coming into the trunk. Water was running down the channel into the brake light and into the trunk by the brake light access area. I plan to get plastic and seal it top and sides to channel the water past the entry places. I have not thought of an easier remedy for the problem. And there is no drain in the bottom of the trunk where the water could drain out. That would be nice to have also. I may have to drill a drain hole myself. Santa Claus in Missouri.

Mine too! My daughter and son-in-law purchased it, used, for me. From the very beginning it also gets water in it. Now, it won't go into 1, 3rd, or drive, but it will go into 2nd gear!
