A tire retailer is suggesting I get 17" rims and snow tires to replace the 18" wheels and summer tir

Sounds like a way to sell you rims and tires. Honestly, with the all-weather radials available nowadays, there's really no such thing as a "snow tire" anymore, since the old studded jobs are really obsolete. I would find a good 18" all-weather tire such as something by Michelin, and go from there. Swapping rims and tires by season quickly becomes a pain in the rear.

obviously the guy from the last response knows nothing about tires, just cause he lives in florida doesnt mean that the rest of us dont run snow tires.

im not from flordia,and little horn is one of the best here and he dont live in flordia eather.

snow tires are designed for exactly what they say SNOW..if you drive in the snow for any length of time, they are a wise investment...obviously not for florida driving..

actually you should get some like 22" spinner rims! those work amazing in the snow!

It all depends on what your pulling with the trailer.. do you plan on going on big time trips... if you are doing alot of high way driving then go bigger.. if you drive alot in the snow have a good set of snow tires for the winter, its better to have two sets anyway...

go with the rims that look better, I would say get all weather tires. Snow tires are great for snow, but i spend my winters in Syracuse, NY where there is a helluva a lot of snow and I use all weathers simply for the price

i use dedicated snow tires on my outback and live in western ma.. a lot of snow ( most winters)
