The trickiest part is replacing the timing belt. If you are not comfortable doing this, have it done by a shop that will let you bring the parts you have already gotten to them if you cannot return them. Some shops will do the work, some wont. If they agree to do the work, ask about how it will affect any warranty claims that may arise.

Making a ONE tooth error in belt alignment...even on your relatively simple SOHC 2.5i, will NOT necessarily pop a CEL, but will run inefficiently, forcing you to redo the entire job. Note that you'll want to chase the t-belt tensioner and idler pulley, and check the oil pump rear for seepage from a cracked o-ring. The waterpump is, surprisingly, usually ok. Wiggle its pulley anyway to check for play, and look at its bottom for dried green gunk to indicate slow leakage. Subie Pros do a t-belt-cum-pulleys "front package" in 1.5 hours. But you'll pay 3 flat rate hours. If you do it yourself the FIRST time plan on a whole day!
