How to replace glove box handle?

My glove box latch handle broke off. I need step by step info on how to replace the handle. Does the whole glove box need to come out to get to the handle?

Remove the glove box to see if the handle can be removed separately. Post your answer on a VW forum, I like VWvortex, owners there might be able to help you.
