how many miles left when fuel light comes on

I can't say for sure but maybe 2 gallon of gas left when the light comes on. Next time the light comes on, fill it up and compare that to the rated fuel capacity of your car.

FOR's method is the best way to check. How does this compare to what your fuel gauge says? Also, remember that your driving style will determine how far you can go on that amount of fuel and it is never a good idea to run the system dry. Always fill up before you drop below 1-2 gallons or your fuel pump will suffer.
