Engine Light

Asked by PontiacTorrent Nov 25, 2019 at 08:59 AM about the 2007 Pontiac Torrent Sport

Question type: General

I had service on my car last week and replace, radiator, water pump and hoses.  I took the car for a drive on Sat. 76 miles round trip and no problem.  Today,Monday I go to start the car and within 2 min. my engine light starts blinking.  I turn off the car and check my gas cap. and started it up again and no light.  I drove another car and ask my husband to check it again before he leave and he called to say the engine light came on when the care was not even hot.   Any advice

Have the car scanned for error codes to determine what is triggering the warning light. Once you know that, take the car back to your shop that did the work and see if they agree it is being caused by the work they did. It could just be a loose sensor connection that they needed to move to get the other repairs done and did not get it on securely.

A flashing check engine light is warning you that the engine is misfiring and damaging the catalytic converter. Have your local auto parts store scan the computer for trouble codes to see which cylinder(s) are misfiring. Hope that helps! Jim
