My cruise control on my 08 Chrysler PT Cruiser won't turn on

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My cruise control was working fine and one time I tried to use it and it would not turn on.  I searched and could not find any fuse that was related to it.  It is an OEM unit that was installed by the local Chrysler dealer when I purchased the car used.  Any help at troubleshooting it would be greatly appreciated.  At first I thought that maybe the problem was just that the dash panel Cruise indicator was not working but further checking showed that it was definitely not functioning.  I looked for a possible blown fuse but could not find any fuse related to the Cruise control.

Power is supplied from fuse to brake switch which has five wires going to it the contact inside switch is most likely broken, replace switch.

Thank you Tom. I will try to check this out. I just need to locate that brake switch.
