My gauges starting becoming erratic after i had a remote starter put in and now the battery goes dead after 2 days?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I installed a new stereo and amp in my 2008 cobalt. after having a remote start installed the gauges became erratic. I moved the stereo and amp to the blower circuit and the problem went away but the battery would die after a week of not driving. I had the ignition switch recall fixed and the problem is back and the battery dies after 2 days. any ideas?

Did you have these things professionally installed? If so take it back and ask them to sort it out. Altering the electrical system on modern cars is always risky if you’re not an expert.
