I hate to suggest the obvious because you obviously have a pretty good idea of what you’re doing, but this does sound like something simple like a bad ground, or a poor connection or a failed relay or fuse, or a damaged wire. Just some thoughts. Good luck.
When you jump the relay, the starter motor cranks the engine, but, it won't start? Do you have fuel injector pulse, engine cranking? If not, what about your security system? My info says you need a scanner that can communicate with that system to fix, if that is the problem? just my opinion.
note the diagram for starter. as you can see, the bcm sends signal through ignition switch, that signal lets the bcm know what's going on, then the bcm signals the ecm, then the ecm sends voltage to control side of starter relay. the relay has two sides, the switch side, left side in diagram, and the control side, right side in diagram. The control side needs voltage and ground or the relay won't energize. Yes, you can use jumper on switch side of relay and the starter motor should crank the engine. By using the jumper wire your bypassing everything on the control side. if the security system is involved, it's not going to start even if you crank it. good luck
